Link guidelines apply to the primary Housing Rights Center Web site and the child domains and sites contained therein. The HRC Administrator may authorize exceptions to these guidelines. Although the following list identifies links that are acceptable from the Housing Rights Center Web site, these guidelines do not require that the HRC provide links to all web sites that meet these criteria. Posting of links acceptable under this policy is at the discretion of the department director or elected official posting the link.

  3. To organizations with which the HRC contracts to provide essential services. For many reasons, the HRC has elected to contract with private entities to provide some services the HRC would otherwise need to provide.
  4. To organizations with which the HRC contracts for non-essential services, if the service is provided by no other competing organization in the State of California. An example of this is the California Office of Resource and Referral Agencies, a non-profit organization that provides a unique child care referral service.

Information Submitted to Housing Rights Center Citizen Connect

During a session on Housing Rights Center Citizen Connect, a user may affirmatively submit information to the HRC by, among other means, electronic mail (“e-mail”), filling in and submitting an on-line form, screening for benefits and services. Such affirmatively submitted information is stored in a secure environment, and will be used by the HRC in furtherance of its duties and/or obligations to its citizenry (i.e., “governmental purposes”).

The governmental purposes to which your affirmatively submitted information may include, but are not limited to, the following:

1. Investigating a problem reported to the HRC via Housing Rights Center Citizen Connect

2. Keeping lists of parties interested in some particular issue or facet of Housing Rights Center Citizen Connect life about which the HRC anticipates issuing further information in the future.

3. Sending informational updates and conducting outreach on topics such as, but not limited to, public benefits and services and upcoming HRC events.

4. Sharing information with other HRC agencies or offices or other government agencies for the limited purpose of facilitating services and benefits, in accordance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.

5. Disclosure of such information pursuant to a request made under Freedom of Information Law (“FOIL”) or court order, if such information is not protected by federal, or state, or local law.

This policy applies to information that may be collected on the Housing Rights Center Citizen Connect website and on that of any third party with whom the Housing Rights Center Citizen Connect contracts to provide Internet related-services. Housing Rights Center Citizen Connect maintains security standards and procedures regarding unauthorized access to customer information to prevent unauthorized removal or alteration of data.

Account deletion guidance

Account deletion is a process for HRC users for initiating the account deletion on HRC’s platform. Account deletion is straightforward and transparent:

  1. Account deletion option is included on the portal and app’s settings.
  2. Account deletion allows users to delete the user account, along with associated personal data.
